Comedian Junichi Kawamoto recovers from pancreatic issues

Comedian Junichi Kawamoto of the duo Jicho Kachogun is recovering from hospitalization due to pancreatic issues. After previously undergoing fasting as part of his treatment, Kawamoto reported on social media that he has transitioned from a liquid diet to consuming thin rice porridge, signaling a move away from total fasting.

Kawamoto shared a photo on Instagram with comedian Mikio Date of Sandwichman, who is also currently on hiatus following a stroke. Kawamoto noted that Date visited him after his rehabilitation and expressed relief that both are making progress in their respective recoveries.

Kawamoto’s hospitalization was previously mentioned by comedian Sanma Akashiya on his radio program. This marks a recurrence of health issues for Kawamoto, who has been treated for acute pancreatitis in 2010 and 2015.
