South Korean comedian Lee Su‑ji posted a handwritten apology after her YouTube sketch “Real Extreme Job Civil Servant” was criticized for mocking protestors demanding a re‑election. Viewers said the scene, which featured the chant “re‑election” in the background, caused discomfort and was interpreted as political satire. Lee wrote, “I sincerely apologize to everyone who felt discomfort and disappointment,” and acknowledged that her intent to create humor had unintentionally hurt some audiences.

The video was removed and the channel “Hot Issue” clarified that no political agenda was intended. Shortly after the apology, Lee received the Popular Star Award at the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards, marking her second consecutive win. She pledged to be more careful and responsible in future performances, aiming to deliver humor that can be shared without causing offense.
