Comedian Lee Su-ji resumes YouTube activity amid political controversy

Comedian Lee Su-ji has resumed content creation on her YouTube channel, ‘Hot Issue Ji’, following a controversy regarding perceived political bias in a previous video. The dispute arose from a July sketch involving a civil servant character, which some viewers interpreted as mocking protesters calling for re-elections.

In response to the backlash, Lee issued an apology and her team temporarily privatized the controversial content. Her recent return features parody videos, such as a driving instructor and a health expert. While some fans have welcomed her return, recent view counts—ranging from 100,000 to 310,000—are notably lower than her previous hits, which often exceeded 1 million views.

Lee’s agency, CP Entertainment, has announced a zero-tolerance policy regarding malicious comments. The agency stated they are preparing civil and criminal legal action against individuals spreading false information, insults, or defamatory content to protect the artist’s rights.
