Comedian Seiya of Shimofuri Myojo returns to work after pneumonia

Seiya, a member of the comedy duo Shimofuri Myojo, has announced his return to work following a period of absence due to pneumonia. In a video posted to his YouTube channel on the 26th, he revealed that the illness was the first time he had ever experienced pneumonia.

Seiya had previously been forced to leave a live radio broadcast of ‘Shimofuri Myojo no All Night Nippon’ early on the 9th due to feeling unwell. His condition led to the cancellation of several appearances, including a TBS special and a music festival. He described experiencing high fevers between 38 and 39 degrees Celsius and significant fatigue, noting that he nearly required hospitalization before managing through home recovery.

While he mentioned that a cough persists, he clarified that the illness was not viral. He used his return to urge others to seek medical attention if they feel symptoms worsening, warning that what feels like a common cold can sometimes develop into serious pneumonia.
