Comedy Central to host South Park marathon ahead of Season 29

Comedy Central will host an all-day “South Park Day” marathon on Thursday, August 13, 2026, to commemorate the anniversary of the animated series' television debut in 1997. The marathon features fan-favorite episodes to prepare viewers for the upcoming premiere of Season 29.

Season 29 is scheduled to debut on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 10:00 PM ET/PT. Following the linear cable broadcast, new episodes will be available for streaming on Paramount+ globally, with next-day availability for subscribers in the United States, Canada, and Australia. The season will follow a bi-weekly release schedule through November 25, 2026.

Created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the franchise is approaching its 30th anniversary in 2027. The series remains a significant ratings performer, ranking as the number one cable show among adults aged 18–49 in 2025. It has received numerous accolades, including five Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Animated Program and recognition from the Television Academy Honors and the Producers Guild of America.
