Comer Group acquires Hilton Gravenbruch near Frankfurt

The Hilton Gravenbruch luxury hotel near Frankfurt has been acquired by the British Comer Group following complications caused by international sanctions. The hotel had been unable to host guests since mid-August because its previous owner, Ali Ansari, was identified by the US and EU as a key financier for the Iranian regime and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

An administrator managed the property in emergency mode with approximately 90 employees until the sale was approved by the German Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA). Luke Comer, CEO of the Comer Group, stated that the hotel is intended to become the group's flagship property in Europe.

Additionally, the Hilton Frankfurt City is expected to remain operational under new ownership. While specific details were not disclosed, the hotel group confirmed that a Dutch financial holding company has taken over the property, resolving previous concerns regarding the termination of lease agreements.
