Comfama enters Colombian capital market with AAA-rated issuance
Comfama, the family compensation fund for Antioquia, has made its debut in the Colombian capital market through a successful credit portfolio securitization. The issuance, totaling approximately 50,000 million pesos, was executed via Titularice under the Comfama-Titularice Issuance and Placement Program.
The securities carry a AAA rating from BRC Ratings – S&P Global, the highest possible risk category in the Colombian market. This rating reflects the strength of the portfolio, which is backed by loans to affiliated workers with direct payroll deduction, as well as coverage mechanisms such as over-collateralization and a guarantee from the FGA Fondo de Garantías.
This financial milestone allows Comfama to diversify its funding sources and reduce reliance on traditional bank financing. The liquidity generated from the secondary market will be used to strengthen social credit offerings, specifically expanding access to housing, education, and productive development loans for affiliated families in the region.
