Comfamiliar Nariño faces corruption probe and oversight demands

The Citizen Oversight Committee 'Salvemos a Comfamiliar Nariño', led by Diego Guerra Burbano, is calling for greater transparency and participation from contributing employers following investigations by the Fiscalía General de la Nación into a suspected corruption network within the organization.

Since its registration in the Pasto Chamber of Commerce in October 2024, the oversight group has been monitoring the administrative intervention of the fund. The group's treasurer, Rómulo Bolaños, emphasized that the initiative aims to strengthen accountability and keep workers and employers informed, as they provide the 4% payroll tax that finances the Family Subsidy System.

The report also highlights concerns regarding the effectiveness of recent interventions, noting that eight different Special Intervention Agents have been appointed in just over four years. This high turnover rate is viewed as a potential threat to the continuity of improvement strategies and sustainable management within the entity.
