Comfandi sells pharmacies to Grupo Unidrogas
The Colombian compensation fund Comfandi has announced the sale of its pharmacy chain to Grupo Unidrogas S.A.S. This strategic move aims to concentrate Comfandi’s resources on its core institutional services. Comfandi plans to invest 450 billion pesos over the next five years to strengthen its primary services. Grupo Unidrogas, a company with over 40 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, will assume operations to ensure business continuity and maintain the value built over the last five decades.
In a separate development within the Colombian pharmaceutical distribution sector, the independent pharmacy network Droxi is implementing a technological modernization strategy. Starting in October 2026, the network aims to integrate telemedicine services into approximately 3,100 traditional neighborhood pharmacies across 32 departments. This initiative seeks to provide virtual medical consultations and bolster the financial stability of small-scale medicine retailers. Additionally, the sector is pursuing technical professionalization through partnerships with SENA and higher education centers to train pharmacy administrators.
