Comfort Erhabor joins AIK on trial after leaving Portsmouth

Nigerian national team goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor has joined Swedish Damallsvenskan club AIK Fotboll on trial. The 21-year-old is currently a free agent following the expiration of her contract with Portsmouth at the end of the 2025-26 season.

Erhabor, who was previously with Brighton & Hove Albion and had loan spells at Hibernian and Plymouth Argyle, declined a new contract offer from Portsmouth to explore opportunities elsewhere. She participated in her first training session with the Stockholm-based club at Skytteholms IP on August 27.

A permanent transfer has not yet been finalized, as AIK's coaching staff will assess her performance during the trial period. Erhabor was a member of the Super Falcons squad during the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
