Comic industry honors legacies of Garry Leach and Ian Gibson

The comic book industry is marking the legacies of two prominent artists through new sales and creative continuations.

At the London Comic Mart on August 16, 2026, Book Palace Books will host an initial sale of the Garry Leach Comic Collection. The collection, belonging to the late 2000AD artist and Eisner Award winner who died in 2022, includes Silver Age DC and Marvel titles. Leach was well-known for his work on Marvelman, Warpsmith, and Hitman.

Separately, 77 Publishing has announced that artist Anna Morozova will continue the Lifeboat graphic novel series, originally created by the late Ian Gibson. Gibson, who passed away in 2023, had written the first two books and an outline for the third. Morozova, who works for 2000AD and Glarien, was personally endorsed by Gibson to carry on the project.
