Comic Seymour suffers data breach via unauthorized access

NTT Solmare announced on October 16, 2026, that a data breach occurred at its electronic book store, Comic Seymour. Following unauthorized access to the server on October 15, the company suspended services to block the intrusion.

An investigation confirmed that member information was leaked, including email addresses, hashed passwords, dates of birth, gender, and nicknames. The company stated that credit card information is not stored in the affected system and was not compromised. Purchase histories and digital bookshelves also appear unaffected at this time.

Upon service resumption, Comic Seymour plans to require all members to reset their passwords. The company has advised users to be cautious of phishing attempts and to change passwords on other services if they use the same credentials used for Comic Seymour.
