Comics Scholar Daniel Boris Highlights Editorial and Research Work
Daniel Boris, a veteran of the comics world, co‑edited the Art of Richard Thompson book with Bill Watterson. He co‑authored the annual Comics Research Bibliography and serves as Exhibits and Media Reviews editor and assistant editor for the International Journal of Comic Art. Boris has contributed to publications such as Hogan's Alley, the Comics Journal and the Washington City Paper, where he was named Best Comics Art Blogger in 2008.
His editing credits include Harvey Pekar: Conversations, Biographical Sketches of Cartoonists & Illustrators in the Swann Collection at the Library of Congress, and multiple works on Richard Thompson’s comic strip. He has judged the editorial cartoon division of the RFK Journalism Awards (2009‑2022) and the Herblock Award in several years, and is an associate member of the National Cartoonists Society.
