Coming Out Day events scheduled across the Netherlands

Coming Out Day will be observed on Sunday, October 11, 2026, with various events across the Netherlands focused on LHBTIQA+ visibility and social acceptance.

In Alphen aan den Rijn, Parkvilla will host a documentary screening centered on the experiences of older LHBTI individuals. The film features stories of resilience from figures such as Magda, a Roze 50+ ambassador, and Remke Verdegem, a transgender woman and board member of Transgender Netwerk. The event aims to address the challenges of living openly at an older age and responds to recent findings regarding declining acceptance among youth in the Netherlands.

In Soest, local officials including Mayor Rob Metz Hijsen and Alderman Lenneke Welschen will participate in an event to discuss inclusion needs. Additionally, Artishock Soest will screen the French film ‘Deux’, followed by a discussion with an expert. Nearby, Amersfoort will host a Diversity Festival from October 7 to 11, featuring films, theater, and discussions regarding identity and love.
