Comiso students face transport disruptions on routes to Vittoria

Students commuting between Comiso and Vittoria are facing significant disruptions to their education due to inadequate school bus services. Parents and local officials report that buses are frequently overcrowded, with many students unable to board vehicles even when arriving early at stops.

Key issues include schedules that are incompatible with school start times and the reported suppression of certain bus routes. These delays often result in students arriving late to class, which is recorded on electronic registers despite the transport failures being outside the students' control.

Giusi Cubisino, the Councilor for Public Education in Comiso, stated that the municipality has contacted the Regional Department of Infrastructure to demand urgent interventions. Cubisino emphasized that the administration must ensure the right to education is protected, noting that initial assurances from transport companies that these issues were temporary have not materialized.
