Comité pro Santa Cruz to evaluate government response to regional demands

The Comité pro Santa Cruz announced it will evaluate a report from the Ministry of the Presidency on October 13 to determine future actions regarding regional demands in Santa Cruz. This follows the expiration of a deadline set by the Asamblea de la Cruceñidad on September 9.

Stello Cochamanidis, president of the civic entity, stated that the evaluation will involve coordination with departmental, municipal, and university authorities. The primary objectives include recovering constitutional resources and competencies for regional governments, municipalities, and public universities.

Key demands include increased funding and staffing for health and education sectors, as well as solutions to fuel supply issues and accountability regarding difficulties within Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB). While some progress in health has been noted, the committee maintains that several issues remain unresolved.
