Comme des Garçons archive collection to be auctioned in London

A significant collection of Comme des Garçons archive pieces will be auctioned by Kerry Taylor Auctions in London on September 15. The sale features 265 lots curated by dot COMME, a Melbourne-based vintage dealer founded by Octavius La Rosa.

La Rosa, who has spent approximately 20 years building a collection of roughly 4,000 items, is releasing a portion of the archive to facilitate the relocation of the entire collection from Melbourne to Paris. The auction includes rare items spanning several decades, including 18 lots from the brand's early 1970s period, iconic 1980s collections such as ‘Pirates’ and ‘Holes’, and influential designs from the 1990s and 2000s.

The selection also includes works from Junya Watanabe and menswear pieces dating from 1983 to 2013. Estimated prices for key items, such as the 1984 ‘Round Rubber’ black cotton robe, are expected to range between £2,000 and £3,000.
