Commemorations held for wartime anniversaries in Kupres and Vukovar

Commemorative events were held in Kupres and Vukovar to mark significant anniversaries of military operations and battles from the 1990s conflicts.

In Kupres, a two-day program on November 2 and 3 marks the 32nd anniversary of the city's liberation during Operation Cincar in 1994. Organized by the Municipality of Kupres, the Croatian National Assembly of BiH, and local veterans' associations, the program includes wreath-laying, memorial masses, and a parade of veterans accompanied by a military band. Operation Cincar was a joint military action by the Croatian Defence Council and the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina that liberated Kupres and the surrounding plateau.

In Vukovar, ceremonies marked the 35th anniversary of the fall of Lušca. On November 2, families, veterans, and local officials laid wreaths and lit candles at a memorial cross in the Lužac neighborhood. The event honored 69 Croatian defenders and civilians killed during the 1991 occupation by the former Yugoslav People's Army and paramilitary forces. Local officials noted that the fall of Lušca was a critical moment that preceded the broader collapse of the defense of Vukovar.
