Commercial Bank of Ceylon wins dual Euromoney awards

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon has been named ‘Best Bank in Sri Lanka’ and ‘Best ESG Bank in Sri Lanka’ at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026. The dual recognition highlights the institution's integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into its financial operations.

In 2025, the bank reported a pre-tax profit exceeding Rs. 89.38 billion and total assets of Rs. 3.26 trillion, representing a 16.8% expansion in assets. The bank also became the first in Sri Lanka to surpass US$ 1 billion in market capitalization. Key drivers of its performance included digital innovations such as the country’s first Google Pay service and AI-powered credit underwriting for SMEs.

The bank’s ESG leadership was specifically noted through its involvement in green finance, including the issuance of a Rs. 15 billion Green Bond, the largest of its kind in Sri Lanka.
