Commerz Real to manage Pangaea Life Blue Energy fund from 2027

Commerz Real will take over the fund management for Pangaea Life Blue Energy starting January 1, 2027. The infrastructure specialist fund, which manages more than 500 million euros, is currently managed by Aquila Capital.

In partnership with the insurance group Die Bayerische, Commerz Real aims to expand the fund's investment universe in its next development phase. While the fund currently focuses on renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic, wind, and hydropower, the upcoming strategy will place a stronger emphasis on energy storage, power grids, and other energy-related infrastructure to better support the energy transition.

Henning Koch, CEO of Commerz Real AG, stated that the cooperation marks the beginning of a long-term partnership. Martin Gräfer, a board member at Die Bayerische, noted that the fund's model of combining investment with contributions to the energy transition has become a successful template.
