European markets see shifts in Commerzbank, Novartis, and pharmaceutical sectors
Various European and international companies are seeing significant shifts in market sentiment and analyst ratings.
Commerzbank is experiencing a rally driven by a €1.2 billion share buyback program and ongoing strategic discussions regarding a potential merger with UniCredit. JPMorgan has raised its price target for Commerzbank to €39.
In the pharmaceutical sector, Deutsche Bank downgraded Novartis from ‘Buy’ to ‘Hold’ with a lowered price target of 120 CHF following clinical setbacks. Meanwhile, RBC maintains a ‘performance in line with the sector’ rating for Sanofi, citing transition challenges despite potential growth from its pipeline.
Other notable movements include JPMorgan maintaining an ‘Overweight’ rating for both Fresenius and Salesforce, and Siemens Energy, despite a slight dip in share price. Conversely, short-selling interest has increased for PVA TePla and Rheinmetall, with institutional investors placing bets on falling prices for both companies.
