Commodity markets and AI stock valuations show volatility

Commodity markets show mixed movement, with gold and silver experiencing declines. Gold futures were noted at approximately 4,254.47 USD, down 0.77 percent, while silver fell 1.49 percent to 63.53 USD. In contrast, energy prices rose, with Brent crude increasing by 1.49 percent to 104.62 USD and WTI crude rising 1.28 percent to 93.34 USD.

Agricultural commodities reported varied results: cocoa prices rose 0.87 percent, and soybean prices saw gains, while coffee prices declined by 1.01 percent.

In the technology sector, concerns are rising regarding the sustainability of artificial intelligence stocks. Despite massive investments from companies such as Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft, rising bond yields and the emergence of more efficient Chinese AI models may threaten returns on high-cost infrastructure. There is growing caution that current high valuations in AI-driven companies could face pressure if capital expenditures do not align with future cash flows.
