Commodore and CD Projekt Red announce Cyberpunk 2077-themed Commodore 77

Commodore and CD Projekt Red have announced the Commodore 77, a special edition retro computer inspired by the video game Cyberpunk 2077. A variant of the Commodore 64 Ultimate, the device features a dystopian aesthetic with a scuffed yellow case, graffiti, and a brushed metal panel.

Technically, the system utilizes an AMD Artix XC7A100T FPGA chip to replicate original C64 hardware while significantly boosting performance. The processor clock frequency can reach up to 77 MHz, and the RAM is increased to 77 MB. To ensure compatibility with older software that might run too quickly due to the increased speed, users can manually throttle the system in the settings.

The hardware includes integrated LED lights that respond to audio output and a special sound chip capable of reproducing classic SID sound in 24-channel stereo. The package includes a demo that expands the Cyberpunk 2077 lore, created by the group Arise, and is scheduled for market release in early 2027. Pre-orders for the device have already begun.
