Commodore announces Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Collection
Commodore, in collaboration with developer Antstream and Team17, has announced the ‘Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Collection’. This compilation celebrates the 35th anniversary of the iconic Amiga sci-fi horror franchise by bundling six original titles from the series’ first era.
The collection includes Alien Breed, Alien Breed: Special Edition 92, Alien Breed 2: The Horror Continues, Alien Breed: Tower Assault, Alien Breed 3D, and The Killing Grounds. To accommodate modern hardware, the games feature updated controls such as dual-stick support, improved frame rates, and save states. Visual enhancements include CRT and scanline filters, with options to switch between 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios.
New gameplay modes have been added, including an online ‘Rush Mode’ and a ‘Horde Mode’ survival challenge, alongside the preservation of original local co-op functionality. The bundle also features ‘The Vault’, an interactive archive containing concept art, developer interviews, and historical documentation.
The collection is scheduled for release on September 24 on PC (via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A version for the Nintendo Switch is expected later in late 2026.
