Commodore announces Cyberpunk 2077 edition Commodore 77
Commodore has announced the Commodore 77, a special edition of the Commodore 64 Ultimate developed in collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED. Inspired by the aesthetic of Cyberpunk 2077, the hardware features a translucent smoked grey chassis, turquoise LED lighting, and brushed metal accents.
Technically, the device utilizes FPGA-based emulation and is powered by an AMD Artix XC7A100T chip. This allows the system to reach operating frequencies of up to 77 MHz, a significant increase over the original 1982 hardware. The machine is designed to be compatible with over 10,000 Commodore 64 titles.
Exclusive features include an “Arasaka” themed cartridge containing a non-interactive demo created by the Polish group Arise, featuring a soundtrack by chiptune artist LukHash. The package also includes a themed spiral-bound manual with BASIC programs, stickers, and pins. The Commodore 77 is available for pre-order with shipping expected in early 2027, priced at approximately $377.
