Common habits that damage water filtration systems
Improper usage and maintenance habits can significantly reduce the lifespan and effectiveness of household water filtration systems. Common issues include waiting until water flow becomes weak before replacing dirty filter cartridges, which can clog the system, reduce pure water output, and strain the RO membrane and pump.
Other detrimental habits include operating Reverse Osmosis (RO) machines despite low input water pressure, which can cause intermittent operation and loud noises. Additionally, physical obstructions such as kinked or pinched hoses and partially closed supply valves can restrict water flow. Users are also cautioned against supplying hot water to RO systems.
