Common pests and mites found in bedding

Common pests and microscopic organisms can inhabit sleeping environments, posing various health risks. Bed bugs, fleas, and mites are primary culprits found in bedding. Bed bugs are nocturnal insects that feed on human blood and hide in mattresses or bed frames. Fleas, often associated with pets, are capable of jumping onto humans and residing in bedding.

Microscopic organisms also present challenges. Dust mites, which feed on dead skin cells, are extremely common in mattresses. While they do not bite, they are significant triggers for asthma and allergic rhinitis; the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America estimates that 20 million Americans suffer from dust mite allergies. Additionally, scabies mites are parasites that burrow directly into human skin to lay eggs, causing intense itching.
