Commoner announces debut album ‘Former Self’ and new singles

Post-hardcore band Commoner has announced the release of their debut album, titled ‘Former Self’, scheduled for November 13th through Pure Noise. The album sessions were produced, mixed, and mastered by Zach Tuch.

Alongside the album announcement, the band released two new singles: ‘Cemetery Dogs’ and ‘Sirens A Block Away’. The track ‘Cemetery Dogs’ is accompanied by a music video directed by Errick Easterday.

According to band members, the album explores themes of childhood, personal evolution, and the ways in which people and situations change over time. Bassist Matthew Bryant noted the record discusses the concept of missing a former version of oneself or others, while vocalist Romin Mattison described the work as a meditative piece and a window of reflection.
