Commonwealth Bank CEO Matt Comyn sells $8.4m in shares
Commonwealth Bank of Australia CEO Matt Comyn has sold approximately $8.4 million worth of company shares. The share disclosure, released on August 14, detailed two separate tranches of sales: the first involving 30,006 shares at $168.18 each, and a second involving 20,091 shares at $168.80 each.
These sales occurred following the confirmation that Comyn and his wife, Lucy, are undergoing a separation. While a Commonwealth Bank spokesperson declined to comment on whether the sale was related to the personal matter, the second tranche of shares was jointly held by the couple as beneficiaries of a trust. The transaction leaves Comyn’s direct shareholding at roughly the same level as it was prior to the sale, following a pattern of annual share sales since 2022.
