Commonwealth Foundation opens 2026/2027 grants for civil society
The Commonwealth Foundation has opened applications for its 2026/2027 Grants Programme, aimed at supporting civil society organizations, grassroots communities, and creative actors across the Commonwealth. The program seeks to foster social, cultural, and political change through two distinct funding streams.
Individual Organisation Grants are available for eligible not-for-profit organizations to deliver standalone projects, with funding ranging from £15,000 to £30,000 per year for up to two years. Collective Action Grants are designed for networks, coalitions, and alliances to strengthen collective participation, offering £15,000 to £20,000 per year for up to two years.
Applicants must address one or more of three priority themes: climate and environmental justice, economic inclusion, and freedom of expression. The Foundation also emphasizes the integration of gender and intersectionality into project designs. The application deadline is 1:00pm GMT on 26 October 2026.
