Konstantinos Kyranakis warns against social unrest in Greece

Konstantinos Kyranakis, Secretary of the New Democracy Political Committee, has issued a warning regarding the potential for social unrest and violence in Greece. Speaking to ERT, he expressed concern that certain actors may attempt to import scenes of chaos and destruction, similar to those witnessed in European cities like Paris and Italy, by involving young people in violent activities.

Kyranakis emphasized that Greece has moved past previous eras of instability and will not allow a return to such conditions. He advocated for institutional dialogue with students and schoolchildren to address concerns regarding education and the future.

On economic matters, he discussed government measures to support households against high energy costs and inflation. He also addressed student housing, noting that state support for students living together can reach 5,000 euros, and touched upon the management of bad loans, stressing the need for a balance between supporting those in difficulty and rewarding consistent borrowers.
