Communist Terrorist Group members surrender in Philippines

Multiple members and supporters of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) have surrendered to government forces in the Philippines across the Eastern Visayas and Caraga regions.

In Eastern Visayas, the Philippine National Police reported the surrender of a 57-year-old farmer in Leyte and a 29-year-old female militia member in Eastern Samar. The female surrenderer turned over a .38-caliber revolver with a defaced serial number.

In the Caraga region, three individuals surrendered to the Philippine Army in Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur. These surrenders involved the turnover of improvised shotguns, revolvers, and ammunition. Additionally, one surrenderer disclosed the location of an arms cache in Surigao del Sur, leading troops to recover an M14 rifle, six rifle grenades, and two improvised explosive devices.
