Community arts and music festivals conclude summer seasons

Various community arts and music events are concluding or continuing their summer seasons across North America.

In Waterloo, the Music in the Park summer concert series is nearing its end. The Kaleidoscope Flute Choir is scheduled to perform at Waterloo Park’s Eby Farms to close out the series. The choir consists of musicians of various ages and experience levels.

The Kitchener-Waterloo Little Theatre is hosting its third annual New Works Festival in its Waterloo black box theatre. The nine-day event features eight fully staged plays, including productions such as ‘A Glass Darkly’ and ‘Mystery Matinee!!!’, alongside workshops like the ‘Play-in-a-day’ program.

In Batavia, the Batavia Concert Band concluded its 2026 Summer Concert Series on August 12. The conclusion included the presentation of two scholarships to music education students Alexandria Schuck and Emily Mruk, both of whom are studying at SUNY Fredonia. The scholarship funds were provided through proceeds from concession sales during the season.
