Local community associations in the Montceau-les-Mines and Blanzy regions held recent seasonal gatherings and award ceremonies.
The association of Public Service Retirees (Retraités de la fonction publique) held its annual back-to-school meeting at the Montceau-les-Mines nautical center. Co-presidents Maguy Mayau and Marie-Pierre Gaudray presented a diverse schedule of activities for their approximately 100 members, including sports such as hiking, pétanque, and swimming, as well as leisure activities like bridge, tarot, and creative workshops. The association also plans cultural outings and a spring trip to the Netherlands in 2027. Local official Gérard Beaucaire emphasized the importance of the association in maintaining vital social ties.
In Blanzy, the association Les Chevaliers de la Gaule, led by Alain Mercier, hosted an awards ceremony for young participants in the Adapted Fishing Workshop (APA) and the Nature Fishing Workshop (APN). The event recognized 17 participants from the Nature workshop and 11 residents from local care homes who participated in the Adapted workshop. The ceremony was attended by various local officials and representatives from the Saône-et-Loire fishing federation and several municipal councils.
