Community blood drives scheduled in California and Nevada
Multiple community blood drives are scheduled across the United States to bolster local supplies and prevent shortages.
In the Coachella Valley, the Rotary Clubs of the Coachella Valley and LifeStream Blood Bank are co-hosting mobile blood drives. These events, scheduled for September 19, aim to increase blood supplies while supporting Find Food Bank during Hunger Action Month. Locations include the Palm Springs Police Department Training Center and the Palm Desert Family YMCA, with additional donation opportunities available at centers in Rancho Mirage and La Quinta.
In Nevada, the Nye County Sheriff’s Office and Vitalant are launching the inaugural ‘Badge of Honor’ blood drive. Held at the Pahrump Nugget Hotel & Casino on September 10 and 11, the initiative honors first responders and military members. Donations collected will be distributed through Vitalant’s national network, serving approximately 50 hospitals in Nevada and 900 facilities nationwide.
