Community celebrations held for indigenous women and social leaders
In Choix, Sinaloa, the Municipal Institute for Women and the local government organized a trip to the coast to commemorate the International Day of Indigenous Women. Approximately 25 people, including women and children from communities such as El Bainoral, Baca, Nuevo Tasajera, San Javier, and Baymena, participated in the event. Mayor Yoneida Gámez Vázquez noted that for many, it was their first time seeing the sea. The initiative aimed to provide recreational spaces and recognize the daily efforts of indigenous families.
In Cobquecura, Chile, 197 social leaders and representatives from various community organizations participated in a recreational gathering at Los Coltrahues Park in the Nevados de Chillán sector. The group included representatives from neighborhood councils, senior citizen clubs, sports groups, and fishing organizations. The event featured trekking, snow activities, and a ceremony to recognize the commitment of local community leaders.
