Community Chest of Korea reaches 4,000th Honor Society member

The Community Chest of Korea has announced that its high-value donor group, the Honor Society, has reached its 4,000th member 19 years after its inception. The milestone was marked by the posthumous induction of Kim Eul-saeng, a survivor of the Jeju 4·3 Incident, as a special member.

The total donation of 100 million won was composed of 26 million won donated by Kim during her lifetime, 50 million won from Jeju 4·3 compensation funds, and a 24 million won contribution from her son, Kim Chun-bo. This achievement establishes the family as a ‘Family Honor’ group, with three generations participating in philanthropy.

Kim Chun-bo, who previously joined the Honor Society in 2014 after donating 200 million won earned from farming, has been a long-time anonymous donor. Since its launch in 2007, the Honor Society has accumulated a total of 449.5 billion won in donations.
