Community choirs launch seasonal singing projects in Germany

Various community organizations in Germany are launching project choirs to prepare for the 2026 Christmas season.

In Höhr-Grenzhausen, MGV Höhr e. V. is organizing the second round of its ‘Christmas Singers 2.0’ project. Rehearsals begin on September 11, 2026, focusing on a mix of modern and traditional holiday songs. The project culminates in an Advent concert on December 20, 2026. Admission to the event is free, with donations collected to support local causes such as the Schiller-Schule support association or the Child Protection Association.

In Gera, the New Apostolic Church is hosting a project choir titled ‘Christmas 2026’. Rehearsals start on August 31, 2026, and are open to all individuals regardless of religious affiliation, age, or musical experience. Led by Thomas Hinzke, the group aims to perform a festive Advent concert on December 6, 2026. Participation is free and no prior musical knowledge is required.
