Community cycling events scheduled to support local charities

Two upcoming cycling events in Florida are organized to raise funds for social causes.

The Charity Witches Ride in Twenty Mile is scheduled for October 24. This six-mile ride for women aged 18 and up features participants in witch costumes decorating their bicycles. All proceeds from the event will benefit V For Victory, a nonprofit providing services such as transportation and home needs for families battling cancer. An after-party will follow, with proceeds supporting the Nease ROTC.

The Western Ride will take place on October 18 in Wellington. This event offers 15, 30, and 60-mile routes for cyclists of various experience levels. Held during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the ride benefits Donnah’s Fund and Women in Distress, a domestic violence center in Broward County. The initiative aims to turn awareness into actionable support for survivors and their families.
