Community dance and music events scheduled in Brazil

Various community dance projects are scheduled to take place in Brazil this weekend, focusing on social interaction and well-being through music and movement.

In the Botânico Municipal Park, the “Soul + Flashback” event will take place this Saturday at 4:00 PM. Organized by the Grupo Sou Mais Flashback in partnership with the Embalos do Flashback and Tamo Junto collectives, the free event invites the public to dance to hits from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. The initiative aims to occupy public spaces and promote human connection.

In Contagem, the “Dança Circular – Danças do Mundo” project will hold its closing presentation this Sunday at 10:00 AM at Parque Gentil Diniz. The free event concludes a series of six workshops that introduced participants to meditative, medieval, gypsy, Celtic, and traditional dances. Led by artist Juliana Costa, the project seeks to decentralize access to dance and promote mental health through collective movement.
