Community development initiatives launched in Tierra del Fuego
In Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, local government initiatives are focusing on community development and women's empowerment. In Ushuaia, the Secretariat of Women and Human Development hosted a seminar titled ‘S.O.S. Tantrums: How do we accompany the emotional development processes in childhood?’. Led by Professor Natalia Tejero, the session provided caregivers with tools to understand and support children's emotional growth through listening and containment.
In Rio Grande, the Ministry of Production and Environment concluded the first edition of the ‘Mujeres de Mar’ (Women of the Sea) course. This program aims to increase female participation in artisanal fishing and aquaculture. Participants received training in mussel harvesting, resource sustainability, leadership, and financial education, including budgeting and cost calculation. Following the success in Rio Grande, similar training sessions are planned for Ushuaia and Tolhuin.
