Community discussion events scheduled in Brazil

Various community-focused initiatives in Brazil are hosting discussion events this Saturday, September 26.

The Instituto Boa Vista will hold an edition of ‘Papo com Pizza,’ a monthly meeting designed for gay and bisexual men over the age of 50. This session will focus on political participation and whether the LGBTQIAPN+ community is effectively advocating for citizenship rights and improved living conditions. Founder Acioli Neto noted the event provides a space for peers to discuss aging and political identity ahead of important elections.

In Copacabana, the Instituto Nosso Papo Rosa is hosting ‘Conversas que Curam’ at the Rio Othon Palace. This project uses a roundtable format rather than traditional lectures to address breast cancer. Led by doctors Sabrina Chagas and Maria Júlia Calas, the discussions aim to cover topics often omitted in medical consultations, such as sexuality, menopause, emotional health, and the impact of diagnosis on work and family life.
