Community educational programs held across Japan during summer break

Various community-based educational initiatives are being conducted across Japan during the summer break to foster local engagement and practical learning.

In Nerima City, students from a childcare and welfare course are participating in practical training at local after-school clubs. These students engage with children through play and snack preparation, focusing on educational communication techniques that encourage children to think independently.

In Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, the Kyuragi Onsen Sayohime no Yu facility hosted the ‘Onsen Terakoya’ program. This initiative provides a cool, air-conditioned space for local elementary school students to complete summer homework. High school volunteers from Itsuki High School assist the younger students and lead workshops, such as making miso balls and paracord accessories, to promote community connection and career exploration.
