Community event calendars list upcoming local activities

Various community events are scheduled across different regions. In Farmville, the Fire Department will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on August 14. The Heart of Virginia Auto Club is hosting a monthly cruise-in on August 15. Local religious organizations, including the Farmville Seventh Day Adventist Church, Johns Memorial Episcopal Church, and Midway Baptist Church, have scheduled youth programs and worship services for the weekend of August 16.

In Elkins, the Arts Center hosts old-time music sessions on the first and third Mondays. The Elkins Farmers Market operates every Saturday morning. Other local activities include a meeting of the Randolph County Democratic Women, a yard sale and hotdog sale at St. Patrick's Parrish Hall in Coalton, and a chicken barbecue hosted by the Lions Club of Elkins on August 15.
