Mediteran Film Festival opens in Široki Brijeg

The 27th Mediteran Film Festival (MFF) has officially opened in Široki Brijeg with a screening of the documentary ‘Planina’ by Biljana Tutorov and Petar Glomazić at the Borak cinema. The festival features 19 documentaries in its official competition, including nine feature-length and ten short films selected from 250 entries across 17 Mediterranean countries.

Festival director Tomislav Topić highlighted the event's role in bringing diverse stories to the region. The program includes various segments such as ‘In Focus’, which covers contemporary themes like life in Gaza, addiction, and tradition, as well as an OFF program, a children's program, and open-air screenings at Dr. Ante Starčević Square.

Dubravka Bošnjak, the Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, declared the festival open, noting its importance in connecting people from different countries through documentary film. Two international juries will select the winners for the Grand Prix and best short film.
