Community events in Spain celebrate and honor the elderly

Various community events in Spain are being held to honor and integrate the elderly into social life.

In Fuengirola, the City Council has announced the ‘Clemente Jaime’ Tribute Festival, scheduled for October 1 at the Juan Gómez ‘Juanito’ pavilion. The event, organized by the Department of the Third Age, aims to provide local seniors with a day of music, lunch, and social interaction ahead of the Rosario Fair. Residents can collect invitations by presenting a valid Fuengirola retiree card.

In Tomelloso, Fundación Elder celebrated its 19th annual Family Festival, which drew nearly 400 attendees, including residents, families, and local authorities. The event featured a performance by comedian Agustín Durán. The foundation's director, José Manuel Sampedro, noted that the center has reached a significant milestone with 150 residents, marking its second-highest occupancy rate since opening.
