Community events in the Netherlands promote social connection

Various community-focused events in the Netherlands have emphasized social connection and physical activity. In ’s-Hertogenbosch, the fourth edition of Maaspoort Vitaal took place on August 29. Organized by Maaspoort Kids and the Ouderen Sociëteit Maaspoort, the event featured over 35 organizations and local initiatives. Activities included sports such as pickleball, boccia, and badminton, alongside health services like medical checks provided by Jeroen Bosch Ziekenhuis and assistance with emergency apps.

In Leiden, the Stadhuisplein hosted its sixth salsa dance afternoon. Organized by Salsa Sleutelstad, the event offered free workshops to lower the barrier for newcomers, followed by an afternoon of dancing to salsa music. The initiative aims to use music and movement to connect residents and promote well-being through community gatherings.
