Community events: Élyme des sables fundraiser and Houle sentimentale festival

The Élyme des sables palliative care home in Sept-Îles is hosting its 17th annual maritime oyster event from October 22 to 24. The fundraising initiative aims to support the facility's $2.4 million budget requirements for daily operations, maintenance, and service development. The event includes a gastronomic dinner, tastings, and social gatherings across various locations, including Port-Cartier and Sept-Îles, featuring oysters from Ferme Purmer. A virtual auction is also being held.

In France, the Houle sentimentale festival is returning for its 6th edition on October 17 and 18. This year, the festival has moved to the Château de Bienassis in Erquy to provide more space and comfort. Organized by the association Les 3 flamants, the event features approximately fifteen performances, including circus arts, dance, music, storytelling, and improvisation, designed to be accessible to all ages.
