Community events promote breast cancer awareness in Canada and Jamaica

Various community organizations are hosting events to promote breast cancer awareness and support during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In Canada, Casino Rama Resort will host the ‘Power of Pink’ event on October 22 at the Simcoe Yard House. This free, 19+ event aims to bring together local businesses, health experts, and community organizations to focus on education and support. Attendees are encouraged to donate to the Canadian Cancer Society to fund research and support services.

In Jamaica, the Greatness Pink and White Brunch team is conducting awareness initiatives, including participation in the CIBC Pink Run. The group is preparing for a larger event at Devon House in Kingston on National Heroes’ Day, October 19. Organizers stated that the initiative aims to use their platform to encourage conversations regarding early detection and to show solidarity with those affected by the disease.
