Community events scheduled for Ridderkerk and Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel

The thirteenth Ridderkerkse Orgeldag will take place on Saturday, September 12. The event features three accessible mini-concerts throughout the day at the Wilhelminakerk in Ridderkerk-Slikkerveer, the Hervormde Kerk in Rijsoord, and the Goede Herderkerk. These sessions will showcase various historical organs, including the Bätz organ and the Clavaux organ. The day concludes with a final concert at 20:00 in the Singelkerk, featuring organists Marien Stouten and Jan Peter Teeuw.

Additionally, the Day of Freedom will be held on Saturday, September 19, at the Raadhuisplein in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. This event serves as a successor to the previously canceled Veterans Day, which was postponed due to extreme heat. The program includes music from DJ Hans Vogel and Regillio Matthews, children's activities such as a disco and obstacle courses, and displays of vintage military vehicles.
